I recently got my laptop back after one year of unlawful incarceration at the Swedish police. However they kept the hard drive which was un-uncrypted and 2 weeks old. But hell. A new hard drive costs a hundred bucks so what.
Because of some... incidents I now have to look for a new place to stay so getting some new furniture might be a good idea. Get a new fresh look...
I found this Swedish webbshop who specialize in cheap designmöbler.
Also the prosecutor got the wanted three month extension on the case. Guess you'll hear from me in September.
Until next update; be well.

The procecutor asks for more time in order to break encrypted disks
According to the Swedish IT-magazine Ny Teknik the prosecutor Håkan Roswall, heading up the case against the Pirate Bay, is asking for yet an other extension. He explains this additional time need with that the police has discovered several encrypted disks, partitions and virtual partitions on some of the seized servers and PCs.
Apparently he seeks to open and decrypt these partitions in order to find relevant information. What one must ask oneself is how he, and the Swedish police, plan to accomplish this task. My guess is that encryption set up by a bunch of computer nerds wont be cracked using standard Hollywood movie methods. Trying passwords such as "god" and using a brute force word list containing names from Tolkiens Lord of the rings will most likely yield no results what so ever.
This must be something that the IT-police section must be well aware of. So why does mr Roswall continue to insist? My guess is that he is trying to by time in order to punish the people behind the pirate bay by disallowing them access to their own computers for as long as possible, since he most likely has no case to bring before the court. Just yet another attempt at rape of the civil liberties and due process.
Likely he'll be able to convince the court that he'll actually be able to be successful in this venture by talking, at lenght, about the Evil hearth of the person who hides things through encryption. If you have nothing to fear, you don't need to hide things from the police. Guilty by default.
But for now I wish him Godspeed in breaking some of the more advanced encryptions available today. I myself am quite convinced that he'll yield no information from my encrypted volumes. Unless he has a couple of years and a BIG cluster of super computers at his command.
Until next time!

On the east front; nothing new
Nothing new to report really. Just that the Swedish police has finally returned some of my computers; except the one i really wanted back. They, for some reason unknown, decided to keep my two weeks old laptop, containing nothing of interest except some images and some documents related to my company. The laptop is not even mine; I lease it from an other company. One thing is for sure; The Swedish judicial system will owe me some serious money once this thing settles down.
In one of his less lucid moment the prosecutor Håkan Roswall apparently thought to either act as a judge and executioner in punishing me by not returning my laptop, even though probable cause ceased to exist or just keep it as collateral for fines that i will not even be sentenced to pay. If the justice system still works (which i seriously doubt) as it should. I'm looking forward to be judicially murdered by the Swedish constitutional state.
What they DID give back was one of my desktop computers, purchased from "Domstolsverket" (The Swedish judicial authority) some years ago. No contraband to be found here.
The last day for the prosecution to present its allegations is the 1 of June.
I'm still accepting donations from those who have an abundance and feel like sharing. Together we can make a difference. The pirate community has already risen up to declare that we'll not silently accept the new world order that the big international companies tries to force upon us. Democracy is about freedom and its foundation lies within the fact that everyone has the right to all information, culture and creativity. The right to take part in the intellectual and cultural life of society.
Remember; No law, no world order, no concept of morality can survive in a society unless its accepted or TOLERATED by the common man. Indifference is the worst evil there is. Bit by bit we let our indifference rob us of our freedom. Our freedom to decide our own laws and freedoms.
Keep on sharing.

Donations
The fight goes on. We are currently preparing several legal actions against the involved attributions, organizations and prosecutors. The whole operation has been reported to "Justitieombudsmannen", which is charged with the task of looking into the lawfulness of actions by authorities against citizens.
In addition we will seek to sue the Swedish government for damages done to companies that hosted their servers at PRQ Internet.
But most importantly we strife to win the case at hand so that the Swedish courts and government will be forced to agree that The Pirate Bays activities these last years has NOT been in violation of Swedish law and therefore the whole takedownoperation was only motivated by the powerful MPAA and their lobbying activities in the US that led to the US Department of foreign affairs pressuring the Swedish government into action. Action contradictory to Swedish law.
In order to do this effectively we ask that you out there who agree with what we are trying to do, those of you who believe that freedom and law should not be dictated solely by financial power, but by logic, compassion, human rights and the right for everyone to have access to all cultural material, be it music, movies, books or pictures, to donate a small amount of money.
The money you donate will be used to replace the computer hardware taken by the police in our homes, for travelexpenses so that we may meet with lawyers and involved persons and also to attend demonstrations and meetings to spread the word about the injustice and for phonebills and meetings with people/companies harmed by the injust seizing of all PRQ Internets servers.
Its not much that is needed, but I lack the financial ability to cover these expenses myself. My involvment with The Pirate Bay has always been pro bono and I've not made a dime through my activities. Nor am I trying to make any money by fighting for this cause. Regardless if any donations are made or not I will still fight the system. Financial aid is just a way of maximizing my possibilities to make a difference. The current situation complicates my abilities to work towards financing it myself. There is just not enough time.
However. The surplus from any donations, which will be the major part of them, will go towards laying the first proverbial brickstones on a foundation to a non-profit trust fund that will work towards advancing freedom of speech, freedom to have access to culture, freedom of information and the right to personal privacy. Either through prizes to individuals who have contributed much in the work to advance these areas or funding of organizations who work in these fields promoting freedom.

Operation Take Down
For those of you not skilled in the Swedish language the debate that has taken place in Sweden following the take down of The Pirate bay may not have been that easy to grasp. I'll try to break it down to you. First of all I am the legal advisor to The Piratebay. You may or may not know me by my alias "Judas_I".
This is what happened. The unedited truth, delivered to you from an insiders perspective.
On Wednesday the 31st of May I had just returned to my home in Köping and just started to relax when I hear that there is someone at the door. This "someone" turned out to be four police officers from both Rikskriminalen (the equivalent of the FBI) and the local police. They told me that they had come to arrest me and bring me in for questioning. Being a trained law professional I immediately asked them about the circumstances of this questioning and they replied that I was a suspect in a copyright infringement case.
At this point I told the nice officers to kindly step outside and wait for me to return. This suggestion did not generate the expected action. They had no intention of leaving. They were there to stay. Kind of like that bad hangover you get from drinking to much dark ale and moonshine. Apparently they had an order do search the premises for eventual contraband.
I'm then swiftly removed from the apartment and shipped with no further delay to the local police station for questioning. I ask for a lawyer to be present and my request is granted, which is more than can be said in the case of Gottfrids (known as Anakata) questioning. He was summarily denied the right to legal representation during questioning.
The "questioning", if it actually qualifies as that, begins. They only seem to want to know answers to questions they already have the answers to. Questions that I KNOW for a fact that they already know the answers to. The hearing lasts for only about 15 minutes and I get a chance to talk to the lawyer present in private.
While talking the officer conducting the hearing suddenly enters the room only to inform me that an order has been issued by the prosecutor to collect a DNA-sample from me. For an instant I think that she is trying to make a tasteless joke. But I can tell from her facial expression that she is not. Do I sense a touch of rapture from her? Is she enjoying this as much as I am NOT enjoying it?
(Note that a court order is not needed to get a DNA-sample in Sweden. Only an executive decision by the prosecutor handling the case. The only criteria that he has to adhere to are that jail must be a possible punishment for the crime and that the person forced to leave the sample is under justified suspicion of the crime. However an infringement into someone’s right to protection from invasive procedures of this magnitude requires that a criterion of necessity and proportionality is considered. "Luckily" in this case the prosecutor is not one know from listening to whiny arguments about personal freedoms and other such nancy stuff)
the spirits in Köpings small police station are high today. They have finally caught one of the "big fish", a real menace to society, one of the devils disciples on earth: A trained law professional that ACTUALLY tells IMMORAL filesharingpromotors what the law of the land says about file sharing! Finally all the good people of the Swedish antipiracy agency and their good Masters in the west can breath easily again.
Soon after this travesty I am released from custody and able to return home only to discover that they have ceased just about all of my electronic equipment. Even my keyboard, my microphone, two TFT flat screens and a multitude of cables. I immediately understand that especially the microphone will yield important information that will help bring me to justice. They had found the ACTUAL "smoking keyboard"!
On Thursday the 1st of June some of the smoke clears
Apparently the take down has been orchestrated by the MPAA lobbying the US department of foreign affairs to in their turn put pressure on the Swedish department of foreign affairs. This result in those representatives for the Swedish authorities of justice visits the US. Here they are told that there has to be a final solution to the pirate bay problem, they also informs the Swedish delegates how such a solution should be implemented.
Upon returning to Sweden the Swedish minister of justice, Thomas Bodström, is informed about the situation and in short he acts in a way that is way outside his sphere of legal influence, ignoring the separation of powers and affectively, through his secretary of the state, ORDERS the police and attorneys office to take action against The Piratebay even though both the police and the attorneys office had already told him that they lacked the legal grounds to launch such an investigation.
